PREMISE

Zootopia is the new film by the Disney Animation Studio (not Pixar) and is about a fantasy world, where animals live as a sophisticated society with each other, similarly to us humans. They talk, they wear clothes, they have jobs and so on.
Our protagonist, Judy Hopps is a bunny who wants to become the first bunny cop. In order to do that she has to prove herself capable of standing her ground amongst all the bigger animal cops, like rhinos, lions, hypos, etc.

HUMOR

This movie is fuuuun! Not only for kids, but adults are going to have a good time as well.
There are quite a few hidden pop culture references throughout that kids are not gonna notice, but adults will have a blast with. There is godfather reference that is hilarious!
But the best jokes are when the animal kingdom Itself gets referenced. Each animal species has its own weird traits that play into the story. Foxes are the natural predators of bunnies, so consequently those two species don’t get along.
Wolves howl…. I won’t say anymore because that scene made me almost pee my pants out of laughter 🙂

WORLD BUILDING

The world also is inspired by natural habitats. Zootropolis, the big animal city has a tropical district, a polar district, a desert district and so on with their respected species who live there. We even have a miniature district, which house all the mouses. This one was especially fun.
Overall the world building is really well done and oozes with creativity.

PLOT (NO SPOILERS)

The plot is fun too. Nothing exceptional, but it serves the story well and you never feel bored. In fact, i was laughing so much that I didn’t care where the story went. I just wanted to have fun from beginning to end.

ANIMATION

Furthermore, the animation style is exceptional. I have never seen more realistic looking fur. If you thought Monsters Inc. looks good, well, you are in for a treat.

CONCLUSION

If you have kids, you take them to see this film. Actually, you can take the entire family. Everybody from all ages will have fun with the flick.
Disney Computer Animation Studios are really catching up to Pixar, and this is the closest they have ever been.
