Damn, what a fantastic movie! Watched it for the first time. Most impressive about the film is that it’s not just a plain horror movie, but a drama at the same time. Yes there is gore (lots of it) but it’s a very tragic story and the finale really gets onto your heartstrings. Who knew that you would feel so sorry for a “monster” with this level of disgust.

Jeff Goldblum is perfect in the role and pulls of the science nerd with enough sex appeal magnificently. Sure, the romance feels a little like coming out of nowhere, but I guess the running time dictated to get to the point quickly. That’s basically my main complain. The rest is perfectly executed. Never have I seen a horror flick with that much heart to it.
